The duration from April to June is the best time to visit Leh. The tourist season in Leh Ladakh starts in April. Temperatures range between 2 degrees to 20 degrees Celsius. The roads and mountain passes that lead to Leh begin to open from April onwards.

The lakes also start to melt, and the snow-clad mountain peaks offer scenic views. The overall weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing. Rohtang Pass also opens up for tourists in June.

Some trek routes may be open, but you should regularly check the weather forecast in Leh for snowfall or landslides.

July and August are not the best to visit Leh. You should avoid these months as there is rainfall which leads to flooded rivers and muddy roads. November onwards is the start of the winter in Leh. December is the coldest month in Leh.

The winter season in Leh is from November to March. Roads and highways are closed and Leh Ladakh is almost cut off from the rest of India due to excessive snowfall and severe cold.
