In November and December, Vaishno Devi Temple is covered in snow. It is not a good time for elderly people and children to visit the temple. The cave remains open even in winter, and you can see it if you are fit and can endure the cold.
Honeymoon couples visit the temple in the winter season. The 12 km trek from Katra to the temple can be arduous, but it can also be an exciting adventure. The days are cold and nights can be freezing. Snowfall is there in December and January. The last week of December is good for your visit.
