History of Parvati Mukut
Parvati Mukut means crown of Hindu goddess Parvati. It is a stone-like structure shaped like a crown on a mountain top in front of Mount Adi Kailash. From Mana to the fall of Vasundhara, along river Saraswati to the Mana pass over its left bank in Ghastoli – leaving Alaknanda behind. To the transit camp, the amazing landscape of flower-studded foliage along this route is full of charming Himalayan birds and trees. Lastly, one climbs up over the one thousand meters almost vertical ridge to the base camp which is at 4800 meters above sea level.
