Gauri Kund

Tapta Kund

Narad Kund
This is believed to be the same artefact from which Adi Shankaracharya recovered the idol of Lord Badrinath. According to mythology, this is where the sage Naradmuni compiled his sutras Naradbhakti and this is why the Kund came to be known as Narad Kund.
Badrinath is named after the Badri Tree
According to mythology, Badrinath Dham has a lot of trees. Lord Vishnu is meditating here under the shadow of the giant Bridi tree, actually a form taken by his consort, Goddess Lakshmi, to shield her husband from the scorching rays of the sun. Hence, Lord Vishnu is called Badrinath and his temple is Badrinath Dham.
Pandavas had established Kedarnath
In mythology, the Pandavas are described as the founders of Kedarnath. He built the temple to please Lord Shiva. He wishes to be blessed by God and therefore wishes to be free from the sin that killed his parents in the Mahabharata battlefield.
